The Mastro’s Butter Cake Recipe is one of my favorite. Made with butter, sugar, eggs, and flour, Mastro's Butter Cake is a decadent treat. It tastes and feels like pound cake and is typically served dusted with confectioners' sugar or frosted.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

  • In a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan, oil the pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • The butter and sugar should be beaten together in a large mixing bowl until they are frothy.
  • Be sure to thoroughly mix the mixture after adding each egg.
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Flour and baking powder should be mixed separately.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet and stir until incorporated.
