Ingredients
- 1/2 kilogram Chicken
- 1/4 cup Yogurt or curd
- 1 little Curry leaf
- 1 little Coriander leaf
- 1 tbsp Oil tbsp.
- 1 as needed Salt
- 1 — To be chopped finely —
- 1 Onion – 1 big
- 1 Tomato – 1
- 1 Green chili – 1
- — Masala powders —
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon tsp.
- Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon tsp.
- — To be crushed —
- Garlic – 5 clove
- Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
- Fennel seed – 1/2 teaspoon (tsp.
- — To be roasted and ground to paste —
- Coconut – 2 pieces chopped
- Ginger – 1 pieces 1 inch
- Green chili – 3 or 4
- Poppy seed – 1 teaspoon tsp.
- Roasted gram – 1 tablespoon tbsp.
Instructions
- Chop the ingredients under section “– To be chopped finely –“
- Crush all the ingredients together under section “– To be crushed -“
- Dry roast all the ingredients until the section “– To be roasted and ground to paste –” and ground them to fine thick paste by adding little water as possible.
- Heat oil in pan. Now add the crushed ingredients and sauté until the raw smell is gone.
- Now add the onion and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
- Now add chopped tomato, green chili and sauté until the tomato becomes mushy.
- Now add the powders under the section “– Masala powders –“, chicken pieces, salt as needed and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Now add the ground coconut paste, 2 cup of water and cook for about 15 minutes or until the chicken pieces are 90% cooked.
- Now add the yogurt, check for salt add if needed and cook until the chicken is cooked. Garnish with curry leaves, coriander leaves before you remove from heat and serve.
