Ingredients

  • 1 cup of semolina suji
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina, all-purpose flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, black pepper, ginger paste, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the yogurt and mix again until the mixture forms a thick batter. Add a little water if the batter is too thick.
  • Add the chopped cilantro to the batter and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan for frying the vadas.
  • Take a small amount of batter in your hand and shape it into a round ball. Make a hole in the center with your thumb and shape it into a donut or doughnut shape.
  • Carefully drop the vada into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove the vada from the oil and place it on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.
