  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, portion the dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon-sized balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
