Ingredients

  • 1 box of San Giorgio Lasagna
  • 1 lb ground beef or any other type of ground meat
  • 1 jar of tomato sauce or you can make your own using canned tomatoes, garlic, onion, and herbs
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • sauté ground beef (or other ground meat) in a large skillet over medium heat. Break the meat into little pieces with a wooden spoon while cooking. Drain the fat and set the meat aside after browning and cooking.
  • While the meat cooks, mix the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, eggs, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Save the mixture.
  • Cook the San Giorgio Lasagna noodles. Cook the noodles al dente according to the box (usually about 10-12 minutes). To prevent sticking, drain and rinse cooked noodles under cold water.
  • 375°F oven. Put a thin layer of tomato sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer the sauce with cooked San Giorgio Lasagna noodles, slightly overlapping them. Spread half the cheese mixture evenly over the noodles. Add another tomato sauce layer and cooked ground meat. Continue layering noodles, cheese mixture, meat, and sauce until you run out, ending with sauce.
  • Aluminum foil the baking dish and bake the lasagna for 25 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove the cover and bake another 25 minutes until the cheese on top is brown and bubbling. Slice the lasagna after it cools.
