Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Frank's RedHot sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  • Start by gathering all the ingredients you will need to make the sauce. Measure out the Frank's RedHot sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch.
  • In a medium saucepan, add the Frank's RedHot sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
  • Heat the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the brown sugar is fully dissolved. This will take about 5-7 minutes.
  • While the sauce is heating up, in a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of water. Make sure the cornstarch is fully dissolved in the water.
  • Once the brown sugar is fully dissolved, add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens. This will take about 1-2 minutes.
  • Once the sauce is thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool.

Notes

Red pepper flakes can be adjusted to taste depending on the hot sauce you use. By adding brown sugar or rice vinegar, you can change the sweet-sour balance. You can customize the recipe.
