Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces hotdogs sliced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 14.5-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup banana ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • Garlic bread for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • First, boil salted water and cook spaghetti noodles according to the package directions.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat while the noodles cook. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until transparent, about 5 minutes. Break up the ground meat as it cooks.
  • Add the sliced hotdogs to the skillet and heat for 2-3 minutes until slightly browned. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, banana ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, and marjoram to the skillet. Mix everything.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes to thicken and blend the flavors.
  • After the sauce is done, add the cooked spaghetti noodles to the skillet and toss to coat. Serve spaghetti with grated cheese. Garlic bread is optional.
