- 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup seafood or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked white rice for serving
To begin, heat a large saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic and sauté until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the flour and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
