Instructions
For the mousse:
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In the butter, cream together sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in milk until just combined.
To make the cake
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In the butter, cream together sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in milk until just combined. Set aside to cool slightly.
Spoon batter into prepared pan; spread evenly over bottom of cake pan. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar if desired. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool completely before
